Karalynn McNicholas was an 18-year-old full-time CNA who had just began her nursing studies while living in the Mount Greenwood area of Chicago. Kara was an incredible, caring, young woman with a loving soul and a bright future, until May of 2018. On May 11th of 2018, her life was tragically cut short when she was savagely murdered. Her friends and family were devastated by her death. Nothing can bring Kara back to us, but we refuse to let her memory be forgotten. In order to keep her memory alive, Kara Kares was created.
Kara Kares is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 2018, that provides for the community to honor the memory of Karalynn McNicholas. We honor Kara’s memory and continue to serve others through The Heart of Nursing scholarship at St. Xavier University, providing financial assistance to students at St. Gerald’s School, and various other service projects in our local community.
The two major fundraisers we have planned this year are June 15th at Lawlor’s Bar and August 17th at 115 Bourbon Street in Chicago.
